Tips for beginners guide Red Dead Redemption 2

On the next page, we've collected various tips for Red Dead Redemption 2.

They relate to many important elements of the game, such as exploring the world, completing missions, managing a camp, or fighting. Our initial tips will make it easier for you to find your place in the game world and make your first decisions, and some of them will also warn you about important events and changes that will occur later in the game. Some of the topics listed below are described in more detail in separate chapters of the guide.

While completing the missions of the first Chapter, you will not be able to freely explore the game world or engage in additional activities. The first Chapter is an introduction to the game's storyline, although some of the missions in this Chapter also serve as training AIDS, such as fighting or hunting wild animals. The game world opens in the second Chapter, i.e. after leaving the camp in the mountains. From this point on, Arthur Morgan has access to all areas available in the main storyline, with the exception of the state of new Austin (a region known from the first Red Dead Redemption). An attempt to prematurely enter the state of new Austin means a quick death for the main character. This state becomes available only during the game's long epilogue, after completing several missions. Fast travel is initially available only in the form of a train and stagecoach - the destination is set after purchasing a ticket at the appropriate place. Free fast travel will also be available in the camp after purchasing one of the improvements in the camp book. This map will also be automatically moved to your home when the main storyline is completed.

Mission types can be identified by their markers on the world map. Yellow placemarks are the main tasks. White placemarks are side quests - only a large question marker can be seen on the map (for example, in the image above) until the person who assigns the task is detected. Small white dots are random events that occur while traveling through the game world. Most of the side missions that we won't be able to complete during the main storyline are available when the story is complete. One exception is the second mission from Maria, which is available in Saint Denis (the marker will appear after reading the letter that comes to the camp). It is recommended to perform side missions in parallel with the main missions. The game offers the ability to create manual saves - select the option (history) from the pause menu. This is very useful because there are choices to be made in many missions. It is advisable to create a manual save before starting each larger mission. You can also repeat story missions by selecting them in the pause - progress menu and then story mode. This is a good way if you want to get a gold medal. Unfortunately, the game doesn't remember your choice this way. If you want them fixed, complete the mission from the guide, except for what you did earlier. Leopold Strauss's usurious missions must be completed no later than in the sixth Chapter, as they will no longer be available in the epilogue.

The gang camp becomes available for the first time after you get to the second Chapter of the game. Not all of its "attractions" are unlocked from the beginning. You need to advance further in the main story or purchase relevant updates. In most cases, you return to the camp to improve it, pick up new tasks, relax and replenish supplies. During your stay in the camp, you can also make friends with other gang members and get information from them, such as potential new quests or locations suitable for robbery. The modernization of the camp is to Finance" projects " for its expansion and this requires money. Although you will often receive information about the division of loot, the money will not be credited to the camp account. You should take care of the gang's finances by handing over more valuable items or just donating money (selling jewelry, watches, etc.). Don't spend extra money on the camp, because it doesn't make any sense. Add enough money to the Bank to buy the necessary upgrades. All cosmetic upgrades are pretty useless, and they quickly drain money. In the fifth and sixth chapters, the ability to contribute to the Bank will be completely blocked, so do not hesitate to buy all the improvements that you are interested in earlier. The ability to replenish supplies in the camp is a nice addition, but it's better to just go to the store and buy as much ammunition as you really need. Buying ammunition is not a huge expense. While traveling through the game world, you can create mobile camps. They allow you, for example, to cook something or relax. Creating a portable camp always spawns a horse in your area, assuming that your mount is within the range of the whistle. This option is useful when the horse gets stuck on a rock that is inaccessible or in any other place that is far from Arthur. You don't need to bring food to the camp, although gang members will ask you to. The gang will never starve to death. During your stay in the camp, you can change clothes by interacting with the chest next to the hero's tent. Dressing up isn't just a cosmetic change. The game rewards you for matching your gear to the current weather conditions. In the first chapters of the game, you travel to colder locations, but when you arrive in areas with higher temperatures, you must wear something lighter. You can always find your hats in the wardrobe If you lose them in the game world. You can buy new clothing items in stores. Use your camp bed if you want to quickly change the time of day. Some activities are easier to do in the daytime, while others can work much better when dusk falls (such as sneaking into enemy locations).

There are no problems with having money in the game, although you may feel a lack of cash at the beginning of your adventures. The money that Arthur Morgan will earn throughout the main storyline should be enough to buy and extend all the camp improvements. After completing the main story, the hero's account will be over $20,000, so feel free to spend money while playing. Not all additional activities in the game are profitable. For example, the wanted posters are certainly interesting missions in terms of gameplay, but they are not so important in terms of finances. Rewards for the capture of the villains are ridiculously low. The same goes for store robberies. This way you can get relatively little money and get into unnecessary trouble with the law. If possible, loot the bodies of dead enemies. They contain not only money, but also valuable items (jewelry) that can be sold in the camp. However, try not to search the body during surveillance or in public places, because you may be suspected of theft. In addition to searching for enemy bodies, it's also good to search for buildings and look into all the interactive containers. This will allow you to get cash and valuables, but in this case, be careful not to be caught in a hot case.

In Red Dead Redemption 2, you don't have the same horse throughout the game. Moreover, you can become the owner of several horses and choose them according to your preferences and their statistics. Buy Horse Reviver from the store. It can be purchased for less than $10 in the store. A horse can fall in very strange and unexpected situations, such as when colliding with a tree at a gallop or falling from a higher height. Reviver allows you to heal a horse if it is injured and still alive. The absence of such an item leaves only the possibility of killing a seriously injured animal. Its possible loss is not only painful, but also troublesome. Every relationship with a horse that becomes the property of the main character must be restored from scratch. The easiest way to do this is to do simple things like combing, patting, and feeding the horse. Moving to the next level of communication will open up new movements while driving.

If you have a firearm in your hand, pressing the fire button (right trigger) in close proximity to your opponent will cause Morgan to launch a quick deadly attack, such as a headshot. The game will always inform you when your weapons need to be cleared. The oil needed for this process can usually be found on the bodies of slain enemies - it can also be purchased in stores. The penalty for using a rusty / dirty pistol or rifle is not too high (their stats are slightly reduced), but it is still worth checking from time to time whether your weapon is ready for battle. The screenshot above shows an example of a weapon after it is cleared. The dead eye can be used not only to mark enemies in slow motion, but also just to slow down time. Other types of ammunition are available in stores. Especially you should be interested in "Express" bullets, which increase the total damage from weapons. Arrows are also useful because they are strictly adapted to hunting. You can use them to get animal skins of higher quality - they can be sold at a better price or used for crafting purposes (for example, to upgrade a bag for things). The ammo type can be changed directly on the weapon selection wheel. Pressing the jump button (a square on the PlayStation 4) while aiming with a weapon will allow Morgan to jump forward. Performing a forward throw can be combined with time dilation.

While sneaking up, you can kill the victim unnoticed. In order to do this, you must arm yourself with any cold weapon in the weapon selection wheel, such as a knife. Machete killings, although very violent, are also considered silent liquidations. Binoculars, which your hero always has at his disposal, will also help with stealthy passage. You can use binoculars to look around and find out where your opponents are. If approaching an opponent is too risky, consider using a bow. When you use a bow, always aim at the enemy's head, so your enemy must die with a single shot. Wanted status and problems with the law
